# CakeKing

> CakeKing is a cake atelier with a design studio. A cake is a design document in
> millimetres — tiers, surfaces, artwork layers and text — which only ever changes
> through typed operations, and which renders to the artwork a bakery prints and
> the spec sheet it works from. The same document is what a customer approves and
> what an assistant can edit.

## Design a cake with an assistant

The design studio is exposed over MCP (Streamable HTTP, single JSON response per
POST). Start stateless: the document travels in every call, nothing is stored,
and no credentials are needed.

Connect a hosted assistant (no account needed for the stateless tools):

- **ChatGPT**: Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode → add a custom
  connector with the URL https://bakeryfondies.com/api/mcp
- **Claude**: Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector, same URL

Tools that need no credentials:

- Learn:   get_authoring_guide, get_document_schema, list_templates,
           get_template, list_assets (with raw SVG)
- Compose: render_document (svg or png), apply_ops (typed ops in one round
           trip), compose_design (validate + normalise), plan_design
           (print panels and warnings)
- Keep:    save_design — stores the composition and returns a design id,
           studio and approval URLs, and a short-lived capability key

To continue editing a saved design, use the capability key the save returned:

Design-scoped tools (get_design, set_surface_fill, add_layer, update_layer,
remove_layer, move_layer, add_band_layer, fit_text_to_surface, render_preview,
set_design, list_fonts) require either that key or a bearer token issued by the
operator (machine integrations).

## Notes

- Units are millimetres; placements are normalised 0..1 per surface.
- A round tier's side surface unwraps to its perimeter (π·d); the artwork centre
  faces the customer and the wrap seam sits at the back.
- Print layers produce print panels; pipe, paint, place and sprinkle layers become
  hand instructions on the baker's spec sheet.
- Colour is #rrggbb. Flat, illustrated artwork prints best: icing sheets have a
  limited gamut.
- Never invent asset or font ids: read them with list_assets and list_fonts.
- Renders are CPU-bound and budgeted; compose first, render when it matters.
